EcoTours- Half Day Tours Our guided kayak tours are close to downtown Sarasota, FL and fit comfortably into a half day. All trips are suitable for beginning paddlers. Even if you’ve never been in a kayak before, come and see what you’ve been missing. Prices include a guided nature tour hosted by a wildlife biologist and all the equipment you need for an afternoon of fun.
Mangrove Tunnels Paddle the beautiful mangrove tunnels off Lido Key. Slide silently under a canopy of mangroves in the cool of the tunnels. Explore the seagrass beds of a sheltered bay. Birds and wildlife abound in this remarkable ecosystem. Often we will see dolphins or manatees on this remarkable trip. You are free to explore at your leisure or ask questions along the way.
Myakka River
The Myakka River is a place of exceptional beauty and splendor. The silent water is overarched by live oaks bedecked with Spanish moss. You may see a wide array of bird life as well as alligators sunning themselves on the banks. The Myakka River paddle provides a unique experience to see this beautiful park from a perspective few will see from a car window. $60 per person
Little Manatee River The Little Manatee River is a unique gem of a river that can provide a variety of experiences depending on the route taken. The upper portion is spring-fed and clear with a canopy of trees, the lower portion is wide and sunny. You may see otters or alligators as well as a whole host of bird life. In the mornings and late evenings the river is alive with the sounds of birds. An optional extension of this trip is small hiking loop that explores the unique ecosystems bordering the stream corridor. $50 per person.
Terra Ceia Bay Terra Ceia Bay is an area of rich history and beautiful scenery. Paddle through a shaded mangrove tunnel into the open bay. This kayak trip is great for viewing a diversity of bird and fish life. If we are lucky, we may even catch a glimpse of a manatee in the shallow warm waters of the bay. An optional extension of this tour includes a short, easy hiking excursion featuring an observation tower overlooking the bay and an overview of some of the areas interesting historical features. $50 per person.
The Jim Neville Wildlife Preserve is a 35 acre preserve near Turtle Beach. During the winter months this area boasts an abundance of migrating birds. During the summer months dolphin and manatee can be observed. This tour features the bird keys as well as a quick stop at a beautiful stretch of beach that is excellent for shell collecting. $50 per person.
